BBQ, Cricket, Lawn Games & a Raffle, it must be a Bank Holiday!

Bank Holiday Monday makes for a fun day for our Women’s 1st team, who will be hosting the 3rd round of the Women’s Hundred Festival which has kindly been sponsored by Marshall Wooldridge. https://https://www.marshallwooldridge.com

Our Women’s 1st team are currently 3rd place in the league and will again face Rockingham CC, as well as Doncaster CC who are currently top of the league wining 4/4 of their matches.

We are looking to put on a fun filled event, so please do come on down and support us.

The clubhouse will be open from 10am serving hot and cold drinks and Bacon/sausage sandwiches.

The running order for the day will be 3x The Hundred matches :-
10.30am Shefffield Collegiate v’s Rockingham
1.05pm Rockingham v’s Doncaster
3.40pm Doncaster v’s Sheffield Collegiate

But not only will there be loads of great cricket to watch, we’ll also be celebrating our new partnership with Her Game Too who are focussed on promoting participation of women and girls in cricket and eradicating gender based discrimination. https://https://www.hergametoo.co.uk/cricket

As part of our celebrations the clubhouse will be firing up the BBQ between 12-4pm, getting some music going, having a bake sale (because what is cricket without cake) lawn games and raffle.

It’s also a fantastic opportunity to raise some much needed funds for the club to put towards refurbishment of the top pavilion.
In order to raise as much as possible we’re hoping for some kind contributions towards the bake sale and raffle prizes. Anything that anyone is able to give towards either would be greatly appreciated, we’ve got some prizes for the raffle but could do with a few more and if anyone knows local businesses etc that might want to help out, we’d be especially grateful. Likewise if anyone has some lawn games they can lend for the day(giant connect 4, giant jenga, etc) this would also be really appreciated.

We’ll also need a couple of volunteers on the day to help with a few bits and pieces like the bake sale and raffle.

Finally, it’d be amazing to see as many of you as possible down at the club on Monday to cheer the players on and show what a fantastic club we have and get everyone together for what looks set to be a great day!

If you think you might be able to help out with any of the above please drop us an email at sheffccc.women@gmail.com or text us on 07921 826629.

Thanks everyone and we look forward to welcoming you all to Abbeydale on Monday.
