Known to his teammates as “Sniffer” Andy’s inspirational leadership resulted in the club winning its first Yorkshire League title in 1990. Indeed, both the first and second teams went the league season unbeaten and the first team completed the double winning the Yorkshire League Cup.

Sniffer was Chairman of Cricket in 2000 when the first team went one better completing the treble adding the National Club Championship to the above two trophies.

The club sends its heartfelt condolences to Di, Jim, Richard, Katie and Family at this difficult time.

A private family funeral is to take place on Thursday 25 January 2024 followed by a celebration of Andy’s life at Abbeydale Sports Club from 3.30p.m onwards. We hope to see as many of you there as possible.
