Due to it being bank holiday weekend and games on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, possible team changes may occur during the week. (Mansfield XI to follow shortly)

The VPXI need a scorer for about half of our fixtures. First chance for someone to help out is this Saturday on the top pitch...the game starts at 1.30.
Good rates of pay (up to £20) are available for someone who can keep a neat book..training offered to someone willing to learn.

Collegiate VP XI 122 ao (Hampshire 68) 7pts
Lost to
Calver 1st XI 124 / 7 (Hodgson 41*; D. Priestley 5/50) 25 points
What started very promisingly turned into a rather disappointing defeat for the VPXI. Alan Hampshire, well supported by a stubborn occupation of the crease by Matt Tyas, made 68 of the first 83 before being bowled. Alan’s final 44 runs came from only 17 balls as he chose the aerial route to bypass the very slow outfield. Thereafter the remaining order subsided to 122, about 30 short of what was needed.

Jim Lomas - Selected Captain in the Division 3 ‘Team of the Year’
