Unfortunately I have not been able to arrange a fixture for either Sat or Sun this weekend but if someone can arrange an away fixture on either day at such short notice then please do your best and let me know the outcome.

Alternatively we could practice in the nets (as 2nds & 3rds playing on the main square on Sat & Sun and the rugby club still have use of the top pitch) on Sat or Sun. All available. Which date would people prefer?

The dinner will raise funds for two worthy local children s causes, both of which Michael is proud to be patron.

Those of you that were lucky enough to play cricket with Graham 'Chucka' Benton may be interested to know that he is the current World Champion at indoor rowing over 2km and has now been put on Britain's Fast Track Gifted and Talented programme to try and get him into the GB team for the next Olympics (on the water!). I've just sent out a brief e-mail to all registered users on this site with details about nets, subscriptions, etc. etc. only to find about a third of them got bounced back because the associated e-mail address is not valid. If you didn't get this e-mail, please update your e-mail address!! To do this, log in - and click on My profile" on the user menu. From there you can update your e-mail address and other details. If you have forgotten your password use the "lost password?" link on the "login here" panel. The system will send you help on logging in, but, obviously, only to the e-mail address on record. Birkdale nets start on 25th January and the Junior section is short of coaches. If you can help in any way please contact Julie or Tom Lister. Maybe we can have a rota if you cant make every week. The U13's start at 6pm and U15's at 7pm. We also need help on Sunday's from 3-4.30pm starting on 7th January at King Ecgbert's. Even if you can only help occasionally it would be appreciated.

For those who might be interested i went to see Hespey yesterday after his Op, and although groggy (to say the least) he's on the mend. He's in Ward B2 of Rotherham District Hospital.....

A proportion of all sales (up to 7.5%) will be paid to club funds by Amazon. We have raised £600 already by this route. Try it!

As I've mentioned before, we've got 10 tickets to fill for the South Yorkshire League Dinner. It's £22.00 per head and will be held at the 'Pheonix Club' on 18th November (7.00 for 7.30pm start). So far, the following peope, are down to attend;

As many of you are aware the recent onset of a serious knee injury and medical opinion has convinced me that I now need to marry my long term partner who quite coincidentally is a physiotherapist. In view of this I am having an informal drink Saturday evening/Sunday morning 16/17 Sept starting at about 6pm in Abbeydale bar and moving on elsewhere. All are invited except Riaz of course.
