The midweek Massive arrived at the last game of the season, knowing a win would definitely keep them up…the tricky part was playing top of the league, Attock, who needed to win to retained the title! Knowing this, they’d brought a full strength team, from all over north of England!Read more
Massive entertained Champions Attock at Abbeydale and narrowily lost out in an exciting game..
Attock 109ao B Root 4-22
SCCC 107-9 Richards 46*
Never win the toss at Abbeydale and doesn’t quite seem fair that we have to chase all the time..anyway Ben went for 17 of one over..Lal bowled beautifully dropped Zahoor off his own bowling simple chance…. Lal “It’s as if Zahoor puts magic on ball to make me drop it.” quality! I then dropped Zahoor which compounded matters although nads nearly caught the rebound.Read more
Unfortunately I received a txt message followed by a phone call last Sunday stating that the game on Wednesday was off due to the weather….this before the storm….
Funnily enough one of the senior statesman of Norton Woodseats walked round a cricket ground on Saturday evening saying that they “Norton Woodseats were really struggling for a side…”
Then his lad rings me and says its off ducks on the square….What a conspiracy myself and Dave Seal went up to the ground on Wednesday at lunchtime and it was perfectly playable…I had players travelling across the country to represent the massive and yet the game is called off…….Read more
Well TOA were certainly keen to progress in the Cup. I am informed we signed off on 4 new registrations before the game including Adil Rashid’s brother from the Bradford League. We only had Jim Tasker’s and John Hampshire’s brothers!
Batted. Big Simmo a very restrained 43, an early back foot straight six being memorable. Oscar Nauhaus Scheisshaus Shothaus. He and Blister and Clean and Nads and Hamps and Riaz got 30 between them. Albert Tatlock made a decent 30 holding it together at the end. Acting skipper ducking beamers and cuffing a couple ran out of partners – 140 allout.Read more
Massive first defeat of season to Darnall…Darnall 147-7 Nissar 100 Riaz 3-8
Massive 106-7 Riaz 40*
With the sun blazing thought 14 a side would be good…then it clouded over and got dark which didnt help our cause…opener Nissar batted very very well and nobody had any answer to him chanceless until he got out…the rest I thought were decent club cricketers…Sealy went for plenty so what….people forget what a hero he has been for my side and he took a good catch..bloke had already smashed everyone else…Riaz was luckiest came on and got wickets including a twisted ankle!Read more
