SCCC 184-5 (Walton 53* Root 50*), Shiregreen 51 All Out (Watson 4-15). Result: Won by 133 runs

The 17 s made their 2nd trip of the season to Shiregreen hoping to progress into the next round of the cup. After losing the toss we were asked to bat first on a night where it looked like it would rain at anytime.

Danny Walton and Joe Root opened the batting and got the board ticking quickly. Danny playing some beautiful shots all around the ground and in no time he brought up his 50 (28 balls). Colton entered the crease, but it was Root who carried on the quick run rate and also reached his 50 (a slow 43 balls!) Colton was out soon after caught on the boundary (35) and Khuram was adjudged LBW. It looked like we were going to miss out on the score that we looked like getting early on but Michael Woodhead steadied the ship to make 23* and we finished 184-5

Confidence was high when entering the field and the big score gave us a good opportunity to set aggressive fields. Nabeel opened the bowling and got himself a wicket straight away caught at short cover by Khuram. Benji took his first wicket of the day caught behind by Mini and also got rid of their opener who looked their best player caught well by Fox at gully. Benji s 3rd was caught well by Ben Fielding at mid off. Nabs ripped off stump out of the ground and 16-6 we tried some more aggressive field positions. Zabe came on and bowled well taking a wicket after a good catch from Josh Gray. Joe came on to bowl and picked up a couple. Ben picked up a wicket caught well by Gray again and Benji came on to take the final wicket. All out for 51

Brilliant batting from Danny and Joe and some good bowling from the pace men and we were very happy with the win .we look forward to Whitley in the next round.
