Collegiate 69-2 .Tasker 26 Leiper 22* Yardley 15*
Lovely day, main ground at Abbeydale, what could be better. ÎUseless TosserÌ wins toss and ask Holmesfield to bat . Micheal Carrick and Rob Mace opened the bowling on a belting pitch and soon had Holmesfield, previously unbeaten, at 15 for 6. Richard Yardley, son of Norm, ex Captain Of Yorkshire and England caught a blinding catch in the gully which rolled back the years for those of you who can remember him. He said he wished pulling birds was as easy.! Danny Pearson and Robert Rusby backed up the openers with good spells and we bowled them out for 68. The Chairman got TFCÌd on the bowling front.
After a decent tea, when we eventually found it, Tasker and Leiper opened and HolmesfieldÌs plan was that everybody would have two overs each. A bit odd but there you go. We knocked off the runs and won by 8 wkts to record our first win of the season.
