It was a nostalgic trip down memory ( or lack of memory ) lane for the Castleford 6 last Saturday.

Taken to the Castleford v SCCC Yorkshire League game in one of those German cars that never breaks down and that can be bought on Archer Road from Peter Gilder, the team of four performed entirely upto expectations and were nicely blitzed by the time it came around to going home at 8 o'clock.

Unfortunetly, the ever reliable Audi would not start.

The boys did not panic. They left their empty beer cool-boxes in the boot, returned to the bar while their chauffeur awaited the man from the RAC. Several beers later and after the said vehicle had been fixed, having seen off circa [Charlie - that means about - Ed.] 60 cans of bitter during the match, utter drivvel was the order of the day all the way home.

Bladders bursting the boys ordered drinks at Abbeydale, sorted out team selection, Ed's captaincy, third world debt and the timing of the UK's entry into the common currency, ( or was it the timing of the of the UK's next entry into the Eurovision song contest?). Abbeydale members, male and female were seen leaving the bar 'avec toute vitesse' as Crofty started to grope everyone in site, Wacko Jacko was heard mumbling something about his petunias and Roy went back to his favourite topic - whatever that is.

There is no news yet about the 4th muscateer, El Dono Rooto, who cadged a lift back to Rotherham with John Fisher. They had a good day, SCCC won and a return trip to 'HQ' is on the cards for next year apparently.
