The AGM for Sheffield Collegiate Cricket Club will take place at 6.30pm on Thursday 8 December at Abbeydale Sports Club in the main function room. A copy of the Agenda is enclosed. The AGM will be followed by the Junior Presentations, for which we hope that John Hampshire and Derbyshire CCC s Andy Gray will make the presentations to our juniors, following which supper will be served. If you wish to have a supper, please complete the form at the bottom of this letter and return to me no later than Friday 2 December 2004 so that I can advise the Sports Club of the numbers attending. The meal will be a very reasonable 10.00 per head. At the AGM the Management Committee will propose the following officials and captains for the 2006 season: Chairman Richard Ibbotson Vice-chairman David Seal Treasurer Andy Wylie Secretary Mark Longley Fixture Secretary Stuart Johns Cricket Committee Chairman Richard Ibbotson Committee Members Bill Croft Martin Maddocks Richard Kettleborough Matt Dixon Junior Cricket Co-ordinator Andy Leiper Child Protection Officers Sally Fielding Nick Gaywood Yorkshire League captain Jim Tasker South Yorkshire League Premier captain Chris Stewart South Yorkshire League Division 2 captain Alan Hampshire Yorkshire & Derbys Division 2 captain Geoff Layer Yorkshire & Derbys Division 3 captain TBC Midweek team captain Jason Pitcher A summary of the accounts for the year ended 30 September 2005 and the Minutes of last year s AGM will be available at the meeting. An increase in playing subscriptions of around 10% is proposed for the forthcoming season. It has been several years since playing subscriptions have increased and this is necessary to help cover the increased costs associated with playing and an anticipated increase to the capitation fee levied by the Sports Club. Any outstanding debts should be settled in advance of the AGM. The membership of any outstanding debtors at that time will be suspended and they will not be entitled to vote at the AGM. The growing success of our junior section requires ever more help from willing volunteers and we would be grateful for anyone willing to assist in the organization & running of junior cricket to make themselves known. For the forthcoming season we intend running teams at under 17, under 15, three teams at under 13, four teams at under 11 and an under 9 team. We will also be obliged to provide a club umpire for the South Yorkshire League for the coming season for which training courses will be available. This would not require a commitment to stand every week & remuneration for each game would be at the standard rates in the South Yorkshire League. Any help would be appreciated. If you have an email address and would be happy to receive future notices by email then please confirm to mark@longers.co.uk. This will save our administration costs and time and keep you better and more promptly informed. The new club ties, at a cost of 20 will again be available on the evening of the AGM or by completing the reply form at the end of this letter. On behalf of all of the committee, we look forward to seeing you at the AGM and Supper. It is your Club and this is your opportunity to participate in how it is run.
