Collegiate 4th (231 - 4) Beat Parkhead 2nd(72 ao) by a shed load.
For the first time this season we were granted a fairly balanced side with more of the XI over 20 than under 15 and juniors who had played a few together.
Ollie quickly tested Geoff's ability to turn on a mud bath and got the result you would expect. He then perished up a chimney as he tried to turn one to leg. It's a shot he likes and a bit of practice getting over the ball will pay dividends. At the end Butterfingers Rooke and the Skip added another 30.
For the third wicket Tom Leiper(92) and Ed Croft(85) added ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY. Crofty chanced his arm and had a bit of luck alongside Tom's more measured effort. Whatever the method it was a joy to do a bit of umpiring, take a seat for ten, have a stroll round the boundary all without having to dash off and strap the pads on. On reaching 50 Tom straight drove the next ball to the boundary and the Red Arrows did a fly past - no really. Seemed a bit over the top to be honest.
After tea Parkhead were abject. The least fight I have seen from them in nearly 40 years. Angry was unplayable on a sticky dog gaining rich reward for his consistent and unrelenting efforts this season, on the final day. A seven fer (26) to match Lobber's on Day 1. At the other end great comedy as Minesy indulged in bullying their small boy. The lad fended one off to be told by Minesy he was "scared" very polite in his Totley origins. Minesy then bounced him and dismissed him with a sheepish grin..
Thanks to Big Leips for all his efforts running the team in a losing cause this season.
