2nds should have made it 14 points out of 14 against Barnsley

The 2nds travelled to Barnsley in a quietly confident mood after winning the last game and beating Barnsley earlier in the season. Things didn't get off to the best starts after we left Riaz at Abbeydale, thankfully we were only at the top of twentywell.
After winning the toss and electing to bat on a good looking track we got off to a good start with Pitch and Israr showing good form until the former tried a drive/slog and was caught at mid-off. Lister went first ball (22-2), which brought in Riaz who was the only one who looked like they could score a run. Iz was stumped down the legside for a decent 23, Pete made 12 before he was out lbw and then came the usual middle order collapse. Simmo looked like he was struggling then dragged on, Langers missed a straight one, as did Colton. Thankfully Ri at the other end kept his cool, he batted sensibly when wickets were falling and opened his shoulders when required. He fell with the score on 140-8 for an excellent 79. Bartles got a couple to take the score to 163. We didn't learn from Riaz we tried to work straight balls to legside instead of playing straight. 6 people bowled.
Pete came down the hill and bowled well in first few overs without luck and Fielding came up the hill and bowled a decent spell. Pete struck twice quickly both lbw and Ben bowled the number 4 around his legs (20-3, game on!) Some good fielding by Lister resulted in a run out and nice bowling from first change bowler Benjy resulted in the score being 47-5. Riaz came into the attack and kept the pressure, the batsmen were trying to give us chances but didnt go to hand. Pete returned and picked up both batsmen that were in after good work by Pitch ((a catch and a stumping) 108-7) Ivill took the score to 120 before caught at slip off Riaz and then Ri picked up an lbw 130-9 with 7 left. It was left to Benjy and Pete to try pick up the vital wicket but neither could and some more sloppy fielding a couple of catches went down or weren't attempted. Barnsely got there with 1 ball remaining and what should have been 7 points ended up being 0. To say we are possibly the youngest time in the league we are very poor in the field, we look very immobile, scared of the ball and it seems to be the same every week.
Lessons have to be learnt and quickly cause we can not afford to lose games against teams we need to beat.
