The u13 Red squad is made up entirely of y7s so is in effect an u12 team playing in the u13 league. 9 of the 12 were in last years u11 Blue side that lost to Doncaster in the district final. That defeat was on the last ball.
This year has seen them going from 8 a side pairs cricket to standard 11 a side cricket. Despite this change they have made an impressive start. Both Hollinsend and Norton Woodseats have been easily dispatched on their own grounds.
The season strated for 7 of the squad as they played for our combined cup side in a win at Aston Hall. The next day was the trip to Hollinsend match.
Collegiate batted first scoring 96 with double figure scores from Oliver Tyas, Hayden Pitcher, Connor Page and Max Robinson.Hollinsend never looked like overhauling that total. The Reds used 10 bowlers, only keeper Tom Higginbottom was not used. All 10 bowled tightly but Oliver Tyas shone brightest returning 3 for 2.
The following week found the team in a sundrenched graves park facing Norton Woodseats. Woodseats entered the match top of the league having already beaten Hollinsend and Hallam.

Report:
The girls cricket team have been playing in an indoor Womens league and this week achieved their first win. They have previously played against Hallam University who won the league that took place before Christmas and then we played Transport who, with 4 wins out of 4 including defeating Hallam University, look set to win the Spring indoor League. Bearing in mind our girls have not played this form of the game before and that all the other 6 teams have quite a bit of experience, we have done very well being competitive in the 2 previous matches.

Ladies and gentlemen, do you spend ages ringing and texting round trying to organise your chosen 11 for a fixture, only to have to cope with cry-offs, grandma's birthdays and numerous other unavailabilty excuses. Let me introduce you to TEAMER, an on-line simple to use administration tool that does the work for you.

A bowling machine... A great invention, capable of putting the ball on the same spot as consistently as His Lordship and amazingly even quicker than him! With the fantastic new nets providing a top class surface for practicing on a bowling machine would push our training onto the next level.
Throwdowns can only get us so far before peoples shoulders give way. According to my calculations we would need £2125 in order to have a top BOLA bowling machine 24 balls and a powerpack that can be connected to the mains. As a result I think fundraising may be in order to make this pipe dream a reality!
