The draw for the club's Summer Prize draw (raffle) has been changed from Thursday 30 July to Sunday 2 August due to numerous difficulties getting all the sold ticket stubs back. The prizes are:
1) 42" LCD TV.
2) Michael Vaughan signed bat.
3) Imran Khan signed bat.
4) Graeme Smith signed shirt.
5) £150 Luxury Hamper.
6) D&P Cricket Bat worth £150.

The Michael Vaughan Cricket Academy 2009 starts on Friday, 24th April at 17h30.
The earlier start time is to give new and current members the opportunity to register for the season and give the coaches time to allocate all the players to the correct group. The sessions will continue to be planned so they are fun, educational and appeal to beginners as well as the more advanced.
If anyone has any questions please contact Julie Lister (junior co-ordinator) on 0773 972 1446 or Riaz Richards (club coach) on 0774 286 2135.

Race Night, an annual club fundraiser, is to be held on Thursday 26th February 2009 at Baldwins Omega Restaurant at 7.15 for 7.45.

VERY IMPORTANT: To ensure we provide the best possible coaching environment we've split the juniors into different groups within their age-groups. Juniors will be contacted by letter with the dates that their group's sessions start.

Anyone interested in coaching/managing a junior team next season (2009) or with helpful ideas on how the junior section can be improved is invited to attend a meeting on Wednesday, 3rd December 7pm at Abbeydale.
The meeting will be to discuss all things related to junior coaching and management which includes winter nets, squad selection, practices, representative cricket, juniors' integration into senior cricket, friendly matches and friday night Academy.
If you unable to attend but in a position to assist, can you please contact Riaz Richards or Julie Lister as soon as possible. (contact details on website)

The club will undertake it's first ever tour of India, and to my knowledge, first ever overseas tour this October.
The tour party departs from Manchester on the 22nd October and will return on the 10th November. The tour will consist of 12 matches of varying formats and will take in four cities. It will start in Mumbai before moving to Pune and Bangalore, where the India-Australia match is currently being played, and will end in the seaside resort of Goa.

The 2008 SCCC club dinner is at Baldwins on Friday 10th October 7.15 for 7.45. Carriages late. Dinner + music is £27.50 and is basically at cost, but at a loss if you, this means you, don't come. The food is always spot-on at Baldwins and there's a lot to talk about.
See you there. Tuck pencil over ear for the Angry quiz.
Please contact any team captain, Julie Ibbotson, or Richard Ibbotson with numbers + special dietary requirements.

The final cricket academy of the season is unfortunately cancelled due to the persistent rain.

On Sunday morning, 10am, Martin Maddocks will need help to remove nets and store all the other cricket related equipment for next season. The more people able to avail themselves the quicker it will all get done. Please come and assist if possible.

The Club Family Day and Gordon Hall 6-a-side that was unfortunately cancelled last year due to rain is due to be held on Sunday, August 24.
With the current unavailibility of a significant number of players we are contemplating changes from the 6-a-side format to 20/20 and also possibly the date. We are looking at a junior and senior 20/20 match with players made up from U/13 to U/17 in the junior match and all teams in the seniors. The matches will be played in coloured clothing with a white ball and all the normal 20/20 rules.

Cricket Academy tonight is cancelled due to weather.

Junior match fees will increase from the current £5 to £7.50 as of 1 June 2008. This increase is less than the £10 which was passed at the AGM and affects juniors playing in all senior teams.
Anyone queries can be directed to anyone on the committee or your team captain.
