This from the Midweek web site dated 25 January 2007:Sheffield Collegiate won the 2006 Elsie Ratcliffe Trophy, awarded at the leagues AGM and presentation night on Wednesday evening.The award is given to the club that scores the highest average runs per innings through the season and is announced at the league's AGM.Collegiate set a new league record 1835 runs during the course of the season, at an average of just over 148 per innings. Their nearest rivals for the award averaged 110! The award is for league matches only and so does not include the huge 284 for 1 they scored in the Transport Executive Cup game at Cathedral.

The Irwin Mitchell Alliance Midweek Cricket League Presidential Award Winners for 2006 are as follows. All the winners receive a trophy at the Gala AGM/Presentation Night on 24 January at Malin Bridge Sports Clubrn

For those who might be interested i went to see Hespey yesterday after his Op, and although groggy (to say the least) he's on the mend. He's in Ward B2 of Rotherham District Hospital.....

In view of this I am having an informal drink Saturday evening/Sunday morning 16/17 Sept starting at about 6pm in Abbeydale bar and moving on elsewhere. All are invited except Riaz of course. Here are the teams for 16-17 Sep 2006, final weekend

We've all used them, complained about them and at times really needed them. Now we need to take them down. I'm talking about the nets.

Mad Dogs is planning on putting them to bed for the winter next Sunday - 17th Spetember. He'll be at Abbeydale at 9.15am and needs as many people as possible to give him a hand. I know it's early and is a pain in the proverbial but it's only fair that we share the job.

Last year it was just the two of us and took for ages but will it will be done and dusted in an hour with enough help. So please try to do your bit.

The 2nds XI's hopes of joining the top 5 and finishing above some of the league's big spenders was ended by defeat by Champions treeton at Abbeydale. SCCC 119 all out. Treeton 120 for 1. Score Card"
