About Sheffield Collegiate Cricket Club

Founded in 1881, the 2017 season is Sheffield Collegiate Cricket Clubs 136th season.

Originally playing at Collegiate College we moved around playing at Tinsley, Bawtry Road and Bramall Lane before moving to our current home at Abbeydale Park in 1921.

Our first team have won the Yorkshire League 7 times as well as the Yorkshire League Cup 5 times. However our proudest moment was becoming ECB National Club Champions in 2000 beating Eastbourne CC by 60 runs.

More recently our 1st XI reached the last 16 of the ECB National Club T20 in 2016, as well as playing in the newly formed Yorkshire South Premier League in its inaugural year.

Our midweek team also enjoyed a successful 2016 winning the Midweek Alliance League Division 1 for the second time in three years. A full list of the clubs recent honours can be found here.

It is not just our senior teams where we have enjoyed great success. Our under 18 team completed an unprecedented ‘double’ double this year winning both the League and Paramore Cup for the second year in a row. Our U13 side also made it to the regional final of the National Knockout Competition in 2016.

As can be seen from our results our junior section continues to go from strength to strength and this all starts with the Michael Vaughan Cricket Academy.

Every Friday during the season we run sessions for 6-11 year olds designed to be fun, educational and appeal to beginners as well as the more advanced. The academy is a great place to introduce your child to cricket. Why not come along, have a drink, a bite to eat at the barbeque, and enjoy the sight of so many learning to play cricket. The cricket academy is staffed by any number of qualified coaches all committed to teaching cricket properly. It is proving a massive success with boys and girls, and their parents. If anyone has any questions please contact Andy Tyas (Junior co-ordinator) at tyas975@btinternet.com or 07512 774810. (preferably evenings or weekends)
