The U17’s deservedly won the Parramore Cup Final in what turned out to be a very good game at Aston Hall.
On a perfect warm and sunny Autumn afternoon Collegiate were asked to bat first and posted 193-9 in 40 overs. Tyas 61 and Moore 32 gave Collegiate a great start with 77 runs in 14 overs. There was a stutter after Moore was out but Tyas glued the innings and was then supported superbly by Josh White who hit his second unbeaten 50 of the weekend. There were other little cameos by the later order batters and 193 was a pleasing target to set.
The boys tucked in to an excellent tea and then Lomas and Masterson set about the Aston batting line. Lomas bowled a superb 5 over spell taking a couple of wickets and with some excellent fielding Collegiate were always on top. However Aston Hall put up a strong fight despite losing regular wickets. James Speck then came on to bowl 7 overs 1-18 after Dan Priestley had taken a couple of quick wickets. Lomas was then brough back in to the attack to bowl out his 8 overs with his usual ecomony which left skipper Tyas to pick up 3 late wickets for just 23 runs as Aston Hall fell just short on 165.
An excellent advert for U17 junior cricket with Collegiate picking up the trophy for the first time in over 25 years- this after also winning the league.
Matt Tyas was voted Man of the Match to ensure a Collegiate clean sweep of all the awards

Special thanks go to Team Manager Tony Moore for his hard work, organising and scoring during the season and what a good way it is for Matt, Brad, Dan and Lexi to finish their junior careers with.
